Why bracelet size really matters

Unlike a necklace, whose length can be « adjusted » with a neckline, a bracelet is constantly visible and felt. The right size is the one that lets the jewellery move freely around your wrist without slipping onto your hand. A good guideline: you should be able to fit one finger between the bracelet and your skin. This also protects the jewellery — a bracelet that is too loose knocks, rubs and wears out faster.

How to measure your wrist circumference at home

Two methods, both reliable. Measure your wrist below the bone, where you usually wear your bracelet.

With a tailor's tape measure: wrap it around your wrist, keeping it flat without tightening it. Read the measurement in centimetres. This is the most direct method.

Without a tape measure (paper strip): cut a thin strip of paper, wrap it around your wrist, mark the point where it meets, then measure the resulting length with a ruler. It is the same principle as measuring your ring size without a ring sizer.

From wrist circumference to bracelet size

Your wrist circumference is not the final bracelet size: you need to add ease allowance so the jewellery drapes beautifully. Allow +1.5 cm for a close fit and +2 cm for a soft, fluid fit.

• Il bracciale a catena con chiusura va scelto in base alla lunghezza esatta più il margine di agio. È il più preciso, ideale quando conosci la tua misura.
