Before it is a material, a natural stone is a colour, and every colour carries its own story. White (white jade, mother-of-pearl) suggests softness and new beginnings. 1. Why the colour matters more than the name of the stone
When you look at a stone piece, you do not think "ah, rhodonite". You see a colour first, and that colour either appeals to you or it does not. That is true when you buy, and even more so in the morning, when you decide what to wear.
The traditions that assign meaning to stones follow the same logic: they almost always tie the meaning to the shade rather than to the mineral composition. Blue carries the same symbolism in ancient Egypt, in China and in South America, whichever stone happens to hold it.

2. White: softness and new beginnings
Stones involved: white jade, mother-of-pearl.
White is the colour of calm and of turning a page. White jade is traditionally associated with serenity and balance: in China it is the stone of wisdom, worn for thousands of years. Mother-of-pearl comes from the sea and plays on reflections, and its symbolism revolves around protection and femininity.

3. Pink: tenderness and self-connection

Pink is the colour of affection, and not only the affection you give to others. Rhodonite, a deep pink veined with black, is traditionally linked to gentleness and to making peace with yourself. In many cultures it is given as a gesture of kindness.

4. Blue: speech and calm

Deep blue is universally connected to expression and clarity of mind. Apatite, an almost electric bright blue, is the stone traditionally associated with communication, with the ability to say what you mean.

5. Sea green: renewal and travel

6. Black: grounding and confidence

Black is not an absence of colour, it is a statement. Onyx, dense and deep, is traditionally the stone of stability and protection. It is the one you choose when you want a piece that asserts rather than decorates.
On gold stainless steel the contrast is the strongest of all: a single piece is enough to structure an outfit.

8. Do natural stones need care?
Very little, and that is precisely the point of setting them on gold stainless steel: the setting does not rust, does not tarnish and handles water, unlike sterling silver, which oxidises.
